NEPAL April-May 2015. Llewellyn Connolly was ascending Mt Everest in 2015 in Nepal during the tragic earthquakes and resulting avalanches, which unfortunately led to being trapped 18,000′ up the mountain at Base Camp 2 for days, stranded, lacking equipment, supplies, food, necessary oxygen, etc. With the weather grounding helicopters, which could only rescue a few at a time, unsure if he would even be spotted, he assessed his options: try to go down on his own through the Kumba icefalls the deadliest part of Everest, now completely unstable, or go up even further to Base Camp 3 where there was a station with supplies. Constant tremors moved more snow, temperatures plummeted, the sounds of helicopters searching stopped…
What would you do?
What did he do?
What happened to him?
Why don’t you ask him?
